1. What a handle means
A handle addresses one public Speech Name record. It can carry grants, verification levels, listings and licence references. It does not by itself prove a legal identity, ownership of a voice or trademark, consent to a project, or authority to bind another person. Each verification result states only what was actually checked.
2. Naming and control
Handles use 3–30 lowercase letters, digits and single hyphens. Do not use a handle to impersonate a person or organisation, imply an affiliation that does not exist, or trade on another party's name or mark. Registry priority is not legal priority. We may reserve, suspend, rename or reassign a handle where evidence, safety or law requires it.
3. Voice profiles, listings and training
A speaker may upload and list their own voice, or a representative may do so only with written authority. A listing must not claim a verification that was not completed. Permission to host a reference recording, permission to license generated speech and permission to train a personal model are separate grants; one does not imply another. Buyers may not train, fine-tune, distil or extract a voice from licensed speech or speaker materials.
4. Reporting a problem
Report impersonation, trademark misuse, an unauthorised voice listing, false verification, unlawful content or a breach of licence to legal@gridheap.com. Identify the handle or listing, explain the concern, provide evidence you are entitled to share, and give us a safe way to respond. Report security vulnerabilities separately to security@gridheap.com.
5. Review
We review account history, published versions, verification evidence, licence records, the evidence supplied by the parties, risk of harm and applicable law. We may request more information; limit public visibility; suspend a profile, listing, model or licence; preserve relevant audit records; or direct the parties to a court or other competent authority. We are a registry and marketplace, not a court, identity authority or trademark office.
6. Effect on licences and issued audio
Suspension stops the actions identified in the notice and may stop new synthesis. It does not rewrite the historical record or erase audio already lawfully generated. A revoked payload is never reassigned to another person. Training-consent withdrawal stops future training and deployment of affected unpublished model versions; retention needed for payment, dispute, security or law may continue as stated in the privacy policy.
7. Reconsideration
Reply to the legal notice or write to legal@gridheap.com with new, relevant evidence. We record the decision and reasons. This policy forms part of the terms of use.
